MEMBERSHIP

100 Women is open to all women who wish to support McIntosh County and are willing to make the financial commitment. Online sign-up is preferable: [link], but it is possible to sign up at a meeting.  After joining, you will be assigned a Team Captain, who will remind you of membership dues, upcoming dates and deadlines, and be able to answer any questions you may have.

For ease of membership dues tracking, we ask that the annual membership be paid in full if possible. If the full amount is not affordable, or if you join midway through the membership year and prefer not to pay the full amount, quarterly dues may be made online [link].

NOMINATIONS AND VOTING

Approximately a month before the quarterly meeting, a call for nominations will be made to all members. Only members may nominate and vote. Nominees must be a 501(c)3 in McIntosh County and have been in existence for at least one year. Our goal is to support local nonprofits rather than national or international charities, as the purpose is for 100% of the grant monies to stay in McIntosh County. Churches and governmental entities that have specific programs aiding our community are also eligible.

A nonprofit that has presented to the group but was not chosen as the grant recipient may be re-nominated at any time. If a nonprofit was funded by the group, the nonprofit should not be nominated again for two years, as it will not be eligible again for that period.

The qualifications of the nominations received will be reviewed, and eligible nominees will be put out for an online vote by members. The three organizations receiving the most votes will be asked to make a presentation at the meeting.

An anonymous written vote will then be taken; members must be present at the meeting to vote. In case of a tie, there will be a re-vote. If the tie persists, a drawing will be made for the winner.

PRESENTATIONS

Presentations should be simple and not overly formal. No PowerPoints or handouts, though educational literature about the organization may be made available to members to pick up for later review.

Presentations will be limited to 10 minutes but there will be a time for questions and answers after the three presentations have been made.

Presenters should be prepared to:

  • State the name and location of the organization and how long it has been operating.

  • Describe the service area of the organization and whom they serve.

  • Share the organization’s mission statement and speak to what they do and how their services benefit the community.

  • Speak about the organization’s finances, including the size of their annual operating budget and how much they spend on administration and fundraising.

  • Explain where their current funding comes from.

  • Provide a detailed description of how the grant funds would be used.

  • Describe the success of the organization to date.
